We’ve covered the idea of this before, but I want to reiterate because it’s easily missed. Many of the settings in GP have a checkbox for on or off, so everyone thinks that those are the only to options. In many, many cases there is a password box to the right of a setting giving you a “sometimes” option.
For example, I ran into someone who uses a lot of recurring SOP orders. Each month they change some elements on orders and send them invoices. They rightly prevent deleting and voiding an order because they don’t want a recurring order to disappear because it was voided. However, they have other orders that are not recurring or the recurring order get’s cancelled and needs to be removed.
This is a perfect case for a password. Allow voids, but password protect the void. To void an order, a user has to ask someone authorized to review and void the transaction using the password. With SOP documents there is an additional control because settings can be different based on the ID (Order ID, Invoice ID, etc.)
