GP 2013 added reason codes to inventory transactions. Frankly, it think is a really nice feature for helping companies understand why their inventory is moving around. If people are making manual adjustments to inventory, reason codes will let you aggregate that data via SmartLists or Excel reports. This can lead to insights into process improvements or policy changes designed to improve inventory control.
If you’re making a lot of inventory adjustments, you need to add reason codes to those adjustments.
