This week’s tip is great for dashboards and come via Zubin Gidwani of Dynamics Budgets. When your refresh or change your pivot table’s source data, Excel can sometimes retain old pivot table selections that no longer exist. These phantom selections can confusing to users.
There are a couple of things to look at here. For regular pivot tables, in Properties, change Number of items to retain per field to None.
For slicers, uncheck Show items deleted from the data source in Slicer Settings.
