I seem to get more requests to delete GP companies around the first of the year. Often the companies I’m deleting are test companies or leftovers where the company was never really used, the data has been rolled into another company, etc.
It’s really pretty easy to do but you don’t want to just delete the company database from SQL or it will continue to show up in places. The right way to delete a company is:
1) In GP, log into a company other than the one you want to delete.
2) Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Utilities > System > Delete Company
3) Pick the Company to delete and hit the Delete button at the top of the window.
All users will need to be out of that company. After that you can clean up by deleting the database and removing reports from Excel report or SSRS locations.
