In GP when you set a credit limit on a customer there is an expansion button (blue arrow) next to the amount. Clicking this gives you more options. You can control credit limits based on a total or provided additional limits based on outstanding amounts.
For example, you could set this to a hard limit of $10,000 or a limit of $3,000 over 90 days. Hitting either one will trigger the credit limit warning.
