Granting Microsoft Dynamics GP user minimal access at the database level to setup additional users

Install, Upgrade & AdminSQL & DataGP 2010

Archived post from 2010. Dynamics GP and the links it points to have changed since; check current documentation before relying on version-specific steps.

Mariano has a information on Granting Microsoft Dynamics GP user minimal access at the database level to setup additional users. In essence Mariano provides a script that assigns the minimum permission necessary to setup users in GP. This is a solution to not using “sa” to setup users and not using the alternative of assigning a user to the Sysadmin role in SQL.

Of course another option is to use Config AD from FastPath to give security administrators in the company the ability to add GP users and link them to Active Directory accounts

Also, as I mentioned early, if you buy Config AD or Audit Trails before 12/31/10  you can get a 20% discount and a free copy of the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Cookbook. Contact Jill at Jill@gofastpath.com for all of the details.
