A couple of weeks ago, Mariano touched on [User Interface Differences](http://dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.com/2013/10/web-client-wednesday-user-interface.html) with the web client and I wanted to add a few more.

**SmartLists**

As Mariano noted, the awkwardly named MS Dynamics GP is gone from the web client. The main SmartList menu has moved to Administration>Reports. It makes some logical sense, but most users will never find it there.

I created a Quick Link and that seemed to help.

The MS team is open to suggestions on where to put this so if you have ideas, hit up MS Connect and send me the link. I’m happy to vote for ideas.

SmartLists are also available in the Lists at the right by module where they are listed as SmartList Favorites. I just don’t think most users grasp the concept of a default SmartList really being a prebuilt favorite. This may be a tough user behavior to change.

**Shortcuts and Quick Links**

Shortcuts seemed to be deprecated in the web client. My existing Shortcuts in the desktop don’t show up and I can’t figure out how to add any. I’ve since learned that existing shortcuts not showing is a bug and the team is working on it. I’m still not sure if you’ll be able to add them, but again, Quick Links offer much of the same functionality and they work fine in the web client.

**Look and Feel**

I like the look and feel of the web client. The Ribbon like interface is a nice improvement. A few of the web client icons seem washed out or pixelated and the spacing seems larger between items on the area pages. This is both good and bad, some items stand out better but the Area page sections end up with more white space, resulting in more scrolling. Also, when I switch between the web client and desktop client, the desktop client seems much brighter.  I think this is really just a result of color choices between the two products. These items will get refined over time.

**The Verdict**

These are all quibbles. I’m still amazed every time I fire up the web client and it just works. I’m working on some heavy duty data entry and other items to really find the edges, but
