The most bizarre issues I’ve seen often come back to ODBC setup issues. It happens a lot less now that the ODBC setup is done via the install. Plus more companies are using Citrix/Terminal Server/Web Client so there are fewer places to screw up the ODBC connection. That also means that we’re less likely to check it.
