Mariano embraces [Web Client Wednesday with a look at Browser Support](http://dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.com/2013/11/web-client-wednesday-browser-support.html).

My experiences with cross browser support are a little different so read Mariano’s post and then come back here.

…waiting…

Hey! you’re back. I have the web client running just fine on Firefox 25 with Windows 8.1 so this may be a an issue specific to Mariano’s machine.

Safari is more of a mixed bag. Safari on Windows hasn’t [been updated by Apple in a year and half](http://9to5mac.com/2013/09/19/farewell-windows-safari-as-apple-excludes-from-icloud-bookmark-sync/)and appears to be headed toward abandonment.

With Safari on a Mac, the web client seems to work just fine. I tested it on a newest generation (Intel Haswell I5) 13 inch MacBook Air running OS X Mountain Lion and everything seemed to run fine. I’ll test it with OS X Mavericks at some point soon. Maybe I’ll go to an Apple store, install Silverlight and run the web client just for fun.

As Mariano notes, the Connect pane is actually a browser window and most browsers don’t allow a browser in a browser. That’s why IE requires a specific level of trust and why it doesn’t run on Firefox, Safari or IE.

One more note, browsers that don’t support plugins can’t run Silverlight, so they can’t run the web client. This includes the Windows 8 Metro style browser, Safari and Chrome on IOS and Chrome on Android.

Also there are rumors that the web client seems faster on Chrome. I’m not a big Chrome fan so do with that what you will.
